Middle age women reported to the US DENTAL CLINIC with a chief complaint of tooth pain and broken tooth. On a clinical examination it was diagnosed, deep cavity in relation to tooth #47 and it was badly broken due to opposing plunging cusp tip. As it was the second molar, we decided to save that tooth by doing root canal treatment and a crown over it. But tooth destruction was so much that it was finally decided to go for tabletop onlay instead of a full coverage crown. After root canal treatment, tooth preparation was done and onlay impressions were taken and sent to the lab to fabricate emax onlay. A try in was done to check it is fitting and high points in occlusion. Once the fit and occlusion was verified, final cementation was done with onlay luting cement.
