A denture is a removable appliance to replace one more missing teeth. There are two broad categories of dentures: Partial denture and complete denture. As the name suggests, Complete dentures replace all the missing teeth whereas partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth with some teeth still remaining in the oral cavity.
Partial Denture
Bad breath can be a result of variety of factors such as eating certain odor producing foods like garlic, onions etc., indigestions, smoking or diabetes. The main reason for persistent bad breath is however gum disease and unhealthy gums which if not treated in time can lead to advanced periodontal disease and even tooth loss and bone deterioration.
Complete Denture
Complete dentures are similar to partial dentures in fabrication and appearance. The only difference is that complete dentures replace full set of teeth whereas partial dentures replace only a few teeth.

Implant supported overdentures
An implant-retained overdenture is attached to implants, while a regular denture rests on the gums, is not supported by implants, and tends to fit less firmly in the mouth. This denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants. Minimum of two dental implants are placed to stabilize the denture. More implants will increase the stability of denture on top. Patients can remove this type of denture easily for oral hygiene purposes.

For patients who don’t want dentures that come out, there is the fixed option. This approach allows the prosthesis to be fixed to the implants and can only be removed by the dentist. They are designed to allow easy cleaning and maintenance.

As an alternative to wearing a full denture (if there is adequate bone or bone augmentation procedures can be performed to grow sufficient bone) multiple implants can be placed across the jawbone to provide support for a fixed bridge.
